Cringing, listening to the sweet, soft words.
Words covered in honey. In sweet icing too.
Their covers are hiding their true intention…
And your voice is just so sickenly sweet!
You are telling me you never meant to.
You are claiming I’ve been all you ever wanted.
You are contending that it was merely a mistake.
You are pretending that you are honestly sorry.
And the next second you say
It was not your fault but only mine.
And in that moment you even demand
That I forgive you completely.
That’s what hurts me the most…
And you don’t even realize
Just how hurt I truly am.
You carry on asking
For yet another chance
And yet another try.
As if three times weren’t enough already!
And while you compose your stories and excuses
Each and every time differently – even now –
You are using this false voice
So sweet it makes me sick…
