There are supposed to be towns
That don’t exist if only on paper.
There are towns whith people
That aren’t really living if only breathing.
I am standing right next to you,
Silence is standing in between
And keeps us closer than before
We came here to watch over our home.
There are masks supposed to be worn
That are hiding the people behind .
There are people who should be real
That are there if only to breathe.
And right now I feel like I can’t…
Like I can’t breathe because of them.
Them whom we walked along with far too long
For they are made of paper just as this town.
And this moment was supposed to be real.
But how come it only feels like a dream?
How come that still you feel so real,
How come I can hold your hand in this town?
This is the moment I started thinking
About the people with masks in our papertown.
The moment I imagined us being drawn in a book
Alongside them so we all could be real..
So I finally finished my poem for the rehab yesterday. And now I feel very satisfied and also excited. Excited that is because the next prompt ’s alreadytomorrow.
