Surrounded by an orchestra
Of flowing harmony and cheerful beats.
Nothing could possibly go wrong.
Yet, there’s that biting feeling,
This nagging voice beyond my own,
Telling me that I am not fine.
Realization is slowly worming its way
Inside my well guarded castle,
Slowly taking down the stairs.
I am trapped. In the tower
That I thought would keep me safe.
And the only way down, …
It’s not even an option.
There won’t be a dragon,
Won’t be a bird to be my elevator.
Going down, staying down,
Walking around the shabby forest
Without a cloud to elevate me.
So I am staying up here.
Sheltered above the tumoil
Echoing through the halls downstairs.
inspired by Elevate
There’s only enoguh space
To hide and think –
And only enough room
To be held captive.
You surprised me.
Carelessly wandering around,
Walking through the door,
Taking up non-existent space.
Beyond the horizon,
Beyond what we can see,
The souls of the forgotten
Are dancing along the clouds
Covering the once clear sky.
Within the circle,
There’s not a thing you could hide.
Shades of memories,
Shreds of plans and dreams
Are showing us other ways
Beyond where we have gone,
Beyond the horizon.
The soft features of the wall
Drawing its outllines on the ground
– using nothing but the moonlight –
Are hidden better than yours.
I can see you in the dark.
You shouldn’t hide anyway.
Even if there was a reason for that,
You should consider other options.
Press the button to reset
The limitations and break the bounds.
There only are chains to hold you back
If you don’t throw them away.
Yesterday, you were the sinner
In the heaven down on earth…
You called it a day before
Even a chance has been awoken.
Today, you have to be the warrior
Fighting for what you believe in…
For faith and trust in the people
(To be able to choose right, not wrong)
The storm eventually died down.
The skies finally open up,
Hesitantly sending a welcome
Back to earth.
Inviting shades of warmth
– Created by dusky light –
Are calling for attention,
To stay cautious…
Even when everything seems to be quiet
And the beauty of peace is this overwhelming.
There’s barely anything the deaf can’t hear.
But still… I guess you are missing the echo,
The trying voice battling for your attention
Day after day,… without success.
Maybe, I am mistaken. Maybe, you have become mute
Somewhere in between my talking and your talking.
I wish I could get over it, but I’m sick of it.
Your attention deficit leaves us to collide.
And we do. Hard. We are like the accident
Nobody wants to see,but still is stared at.
And if we aren’t even that, then we are nothing.
Not even the echo of whatever it is we have once been.
So I scream… and scream again until my voice dies down.
I am still waiting for the echo that won’t ever come.
You have no idea what I would give just to hear yours.
Even if that really means for you to be mute afterwards.
